Transform your shooting experience with precision and control. The Vantage Point Armory Compensator combines innovative technology with a patent-pending design, offering unparalleled functionality and adaptability for any situation.
Minimize Recoil / Reliable Compensation: Minimize recoil and maintain control shot after shot. During firing of the weapon, the attached compensator funnels the gas from the propellant through the ports machined into the compensator. This acts the same as other compensators on the market. However, because this system is not attached to the slide or barrel it does not inhibit, change or impede the cycling action of the pistol.
Enhance Stability: Ehanced stability and target reacquisition for unparalleled accuracy
Rugged and Reliable: Designed to withstand intense shooting sessions. Drop tests have proven the Vantage Point Compensator to be as rugged as it is effective.
Interfaces with the Pistol via a Weapon-Mounted Light: Ideal for those seeking enhanced performance with a weapon light:
Holster Selection: Any universal holster (e.g., PHLster Floodlight) or custom holster that normally accepts a standard frame-mounted accessory such as a Surefire X300U-A light will fit with no modifications to the holster because the accessory remains in the same location as when mounted using the original rails that originally came with the accessory. Learn more about holster compatibility here.
Standoff Device: When in a situation where the muzzle of the firearm is pushed up against its intended target, the pistol will not go out of battery and therefore it will still be able to fire with the compensator in place.
Ease of Cleaning: Barrel-mounted compensators need to be disassembled and unthreaded to be cleaned which can be a hassle and time consuming to re-time the device. This unit can just be unclamped from the rail by disengaging the locking lug on the accessory for easy field stripping and cleaning of the firearm and compensator.
Price vs. Competition: Since the Vantage Point Compensator mounts to the accessory rail, there is no need for expensive aftermarket barrels.
50 State Legal: Since no threaded barrel is required, our compensator is legal in all 50 states.
Sleek Design: The designer has matched the lines of each individual slide to the compensator, resulting in a streamlined device.
Made in USA: Crafted with precision from premium materials in the USA.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Assembling the Vantage Point Archon Type B Light-Mounted Compensator to the Surefire X300U-A.
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- VP Armory Archon Type B Light-Mounted Compensator
- SureFire X300U-A Weapon Light (& “P” Latch)
- Torque wrench with 5/64" Allen key (recommended) or 5/64” Allen Wrench
- Archon Type B
1. Verify the Correct Light:
-
- Ensure you have the required light for the assembly, specifically the SureFire X300U-A Weapon Light.
-
- Ensure Proper Latch Usage: For the Archon Type B, use the "P" latch (include with SureFire X300U-A)
2. Prepare the Firearm:
- Ensure the firearm is unloaded before proceeding.
3. Remove OEM Bolts:
-
- Using an Allen key, remove the six OEM bolts from the housing of the SureFire X300U-A light. This will free up the polymer rails that will no longer be needed.
4. Verify Spring Placement:
-
- *The "P" latch on the Surefire X3000U-A must be used
- Before proceeding, ensure that the spring is inside the groove on the backside of the tab of the P-Latch.
- If the spring is outside the spring pocket, it may still compress, allowing you to assemble everything, however it will make it difficult to attach or remove the compensator without unscrewing it.
- To avoid this issue, it's recommended to place the spring into the groove and then fold the light down on top of it, using your thumb to keep tension. This ensures the spring is properly seated in the groove.
- Test the spring placement by pushing it down. It should move easily to the bottom. If it is difficult to push, the spring may not be in the correct position.
5. Position Compensator:
-
- Release the lock clamp by pulling back the two wings located on the sides of the assembly.
- Align the compensator with the rails of the pistol. Slide the compensator onto the rails, making sure it fits snugly.
6. Secure Compensator:
-
- Once the placement is verified, proceed to attach the six bolts.
- We highly recommend using a torque wrench.
- Tighten all six bolts 5-6 inch-pounds to ensure the compensator is firmly attached.
- If you don’t have a torque wrench, tighten all six bolts until they are fully seated, then an additional 1/8 of a turn.
- If the compensator snaps on and off smoothly, it indicates that the spring is properly seated in the groove.
- *Ensure the locking tab of the SureFire is up and secured when the compensator is mounted to the firearm. If the tab is down, it is not locked and the compensator can detach during firing.
- When the wings that control the locking bar click into place, the compensator is securely attached.
7. Final Check:
-
- After assembly, perform a final check to ensure all bolts are securely tightened. It's essential to use all six bolts for stability and security.
- Ensure that compensator is in place and aligned. Apply slight tension to confirm the compensator is securely attached.
8. Mark the Screws:
- Use a paint pen to mark your screws. This will help you track if they back out over time.
- Check the screws on a regular basis to ensure they have not backed out.
9. Functional Test:
-
- Test the compensator's functionality on your firearm to ensure proper attachment and functionality.
10. Completion:
-
- With the compensator securely attached and tested, your assembly process is complete, and the Vantage Point compensator is ready for use.
Upgrading your handgun with a compensator requires a higher level of maintenance and care. Ensuring that it is installed correctly and checked frequently is critical for proper function and safety.
